Assembly Elections Karnataka- 2018

Its carnival again.. Voting carnival for the people by the people of democratic countries.. Before Voting recall last 5 years, what was the progress made with respect to following parameters..
Plantation: Check how many plants made to sleep and how many erected back..? I feel this parameter as most basic as trees make us breath..!
Water Supply: Make note, how many times they dig roads in assurance of 24/7 water supply? Any one promising to supply 24/7 for all citizens, is just making you fool, rivers are not as blessed as mankind to reproduce throughout 12 months..
Electricity: Count how many solar operated lights seeing sky in your area.. If none, then second time getting fooled for 24/7 assurance.
Waste Management: Recall how many times they are collecting garbage from u per week.. if not twice a day, then valuable recyclable materials adding to landfill beside your city..!
Education: Check if Govt/Municipality school you learnt is still operational.. if yes then weigh for the students to teacher's ratio and then decide whom to vote
Transport: Do you get adequate bus stops? Does public transport available easily across the city and connecting neighboring villages ? Are they enough and encouraging you for not using private vehicles..For tire-2/3 city, if you don't have metro plan on paper for this election, then for sure you are lead by poor visionary..!
Like wise many parameters to list.. but young minnelials don't have time & patience to read lengthy texts.. to conclude got two requests for you..
1. Go out  and vote

2. Vote to right Leader...!

Shraavan Ban..!

There should be some limit for everything. It’s applicable to all, irrespective of what we do, spend and eat. When it comes for eating it becomes very difficult to maintain the diet. Most frequently we get more appetite for all banned list of cookies. Now to control our burning desire towards these diet, one should need stiff heart. This is rare case with 90% of population.  Otherwise some sort of mythological belief required to keep adamant heart under control.  Likewise in India we have a particular month, that falls in the mid of the Monsoon called Shraavan.

During which, all sort of non-veg and consumption of alcohol is banned. The very reason given for this prohibit is, this month being ‘highly sacred ’.  This month carries line of preferential days for each God & Goddesses for worship. Lots of rituals being performed and it’s considered to be auspicious month amongst all Hindu months. Thus there is belief to avoid all sorts of violence, addicts and other thin acts during this holy period.
But for my analysis, there sounds to be different reasons behind keeping such ban during Shraavan. First one being unhealthy season for this ban. It falls in the mid of Monsoon, which is most decisive period in the Indian Territory. There use to be spread of all sort of diseases among living organisms. For most of the animals it is the reproductive period. For example fishes lay eggs during this season. Most of the mammals go through delivery during this period. To support Charles Darvin’s Survivor of Fittest theory - this is real test period for new born to survive. If they pass through Shravan then they are out for next generation. And for those unfortunates this is the worst period. Thus there is risk of supply of these deceased animal flush in the market.

Thus to save ourselves from this health risk, our ancestors might be imposed this ban period. If fisherman’s does fishing during this phase then there might be scarcity of fishes in next season. Thus this ban creates opportunity for supply fishes for rest of year.

In those days alcohol was mainly derived through fruit juices. Due to continuous rain in the monsoon, like animals fruits also exposed to contamination due to bacteria’s and all. Thus alcohol prepared in the decisive period carried same risk as briefed for the animal flush.
One will not consider these facts in simple words. If this whole funda’s gets associates with some sort of mythology or spiritual belief, then it will drive prime weight with it. God is the best weapon to scare mankind. Thus all prohibitions are related spiritual rituals.
My other observation for consideration of all these holy rituals during Shraavan is it’s ‘timing’. This ban period comes after 30-40 days after actual start of Monsoon. By this time ancient farmers had completed the sawing in the fields and this might be relaxing time after continual efforts. In other words this month runs with less works in the fields as compared to the start of and post monsoon. Thus to make up this open time, there might be thought to fill in this with lots of rituals and sacred worships. And to pray for believed god for the optimum rains and good yield from farms.
Whatever might be the spiritual reason..! But this Ban on name of Shraavan has some good thing on mercy animals and human being himself.  Thus there lies greedy selfishness of mankind behind all sort of its acts..!

Car BuzZ...!

Buying car is one of the craziest achievements that roving around the brains of young dynamites of India. There is no doubt that Indian youngsters are earning good stuff even after world wounded with great economic crises. For Indian young graduate associated with great brand, inflation of double digit makes no difference.

They are earning enough to meet basic needs and moreover they are saving & investing  good stuff into market.  But while making such investments, craze and psyche  are dominating the conscience these hot brains. Especially, Craze of Car..! No one is bothered to think weather it is really required or not. Rather than necessity, it had turned into product of prosperity.  Just an item of show off.
We bark for traffic problems, blow horn on every morning, curse for FM updates for traffic jams,  keep provision for power nap in the buses on the way to work. Blame the government and the administration. But real cause for all traffic trouble is system. Yes! We criticise the system  created by ourselves.  If you are not directly contributing to this mess, some where someone related to you is contributing indirectly. So no meaning in the play of blame-game.
For a particular city there is a binding figure imposed on land development through Floor Space Index(FSI). But there no restriction on the selling figures of cars or other Private Utility Vehicle(PUV)s  for city.  There is no proper link between urban development authority and RTO.
In country like India, buying car means officially encroaching govt land to park on roads by paying some minimum tip. During registration none of the RTO asks for the availability of private parking space. Thanks to urban development bye laws. Which have specified minimum 10% of total building area to be allotted as parking space. But this is limited to big housing societies and commercial complexes like mall or multiplex.  There is no such minimum parking bye law for private house or bungalow. They park their vehicle in front of house on govt road. As if that piece of land belonging to them as if they have paid for it. City municipal corporations can earn good stuff if they impose taxes on vehicles parked on roads.

Govt policies to promote auto industry are the major cause for traffic problems. On one side state and central govt’s are spending huge amounts on road infrastructure like fly overs, sky walks, underpasses etc.  On other side they are promoting the automobile sector though wide packages for industrial growth and so called economic revolution. Actually govt’s are treating the wound and they are not curing the decease.

Whereas public and private sector banks are on the battle ground of providing car-loans. There are many schemes running around like ‘on spot loan facility’ or ‘car key within hour’ etc. These banks are associate boosters along with govt for car buzz. They are claiming for the conversion of youngsters dreams to reality in no time.
When developed countries like Korea, Singapore, Japan, Germany are insisting for mass transport systems through strict policies, India at this stage should make stringent policies to retreat the car buzz! Such policies should include levy of huge percentage of registration fees on private vehicles.

Fuels need be subsidized to zero extent, there by relieving govt’s  cash crunch. Even govt should think of levying heavy tax on the fuels like petrol and diesel. Same type of rules to be laid on hire vehicle like auto and taxi. Govt should educate and provoke people for using mass transit systems like metro and mono rails. In other words Mass Transport System is sustainable move towards Green Revolution..! Moreover Conscience  of youngsters need a change..!

Sustainable Development and Practices..!

Change is the only constant thing on the earth. If change is by nature itself then one need not to worry about it. But if change is forced by human activities then it’s dangerous and can cause catastrophes. Rise in temperature, floods, droughts, acid rains all are reactions of nature to balance itself. Nature has its own limits for such a balancing activity. From the ancient time man achieved his development utilising natural resources as per his requirement. Development doesn’t mean to destruction of nature. It can be achieved without harming the nature by safe practices, observing delicate interconnectivity amongst all creatures. Such practices clubbed together leads to Sustainable Development. Sustainable philosophy means-to understand the environment in long term and progress without harming ecological balance or to keep the manmade disturbance as low as possible. Thus question arises “How to achieve this sustainable development..?” Sustainable development starts from house i.e. from common man, by following simple practices in our day today life.

Using public transport
With enhanced economy and advancement in the automobile industry, now day middle class family can also afford buying private vehicle for themselves. But from studies it is clear that for urban population fuel consumed per person in private transport is more that public transports. Thus it is advisable to use public transports like bus, railways and metros other than private bikes and cars. For short distances walking or cycling should be practiced.

Further there is an appeal to automobile industry for get down the economy speed to 10-20km/hr from 30-45km/hr. This would help to save fuel in urban cities where traffic movement hardly exceeds 10-15km/hr during peak hours.

Avoid plastic
Say no to food items served in plastics. Alternatively ask for food items packed with biodegradable materials. For example plastic packed Parle-G biscuits taste’s same as that of packed in wax paper two year ago. Use cloth/HDPE bags while going out for shopping. It takes more than hundred years to degrade the plastics items. Buying water bottles while outing is fashion now. Earlier practice was to carry water from house while travelling or outing. Same practice need to be back once again. Even though most of the water bottles and plastic bags are recyclable type, but recycling process itself has an impact on environment and it does cost for its machineries, plants and labours. One must have seen such labours wandering on back streets for sake their livelihood taking most dangerous assignments. Recent studies revealed that plastic bags and bottles are the reason for most of the nallah blockage and consequent flooding during mansoon.

Limited use of cement concrete
Cement is another wonderful invention to provide shelter to human beings. In the 17th century cement concrete was invented to build critical structures like dams, bridges, ports and other infrastructural needs. I those days they hardly used cement for building residential buildings. Most of the cases they used it as binding material between stone blocks there by optimising the use of cement. Approximately 220kg of equivalent Carbon Dioxide gets emitted during manufacturing process of 1000kg cement. Thus cement industry contribute 2-3% to the overall CO2 emissions.

Hence construction industry should make optimum utilisation of cement. Now day road side stones and mile stones are replaced by cement concrete moulds. For surprise such concrete moulds are used as milestones and curb stones in up-gradation project of highways in Deccan Plateau, where the basalt stone is easily available. Like this in many cases to mention where cement concrete is in use unnecessarily.

Following the Regulations
For infrastructure up-gradation we are cutting trees beside the roads that are planted some 20yrs back. Huge dam constructions are swallowing dense forests. These all are required for the well being of civilisation and development. But these developments are to be done as per the norms. Before initiating such projects it is mandatory requirement to submit Environment Impact Assessment-EIA and regulatory measures that are intended to be done after completion of projects. But unfortunately no one to execute these measures after completion of project. Till the date we don’t have figures of planted trees that are survived after completion of Golden Quadrilateral Project. This is latest example to quote, same thing is happened with most of the projects and nobody is bothered to look back to the measures taken by authorities. Thus project should be treated ‘complete’ and dedicated to nation only after completion of EIA remedial measures.

Industries should come up voluntarily while releasing the effluents like air, water and solid waste. There are advanced treatment systems which can be used to dilute these effluents. The treatment procedures consume up to 20% of entrepreneur profits. But its marginal compared to later on outlays in case the harmful effects devastations. Industries should practice new initiatives like Zero discharge, Green Building construction etc. By implementing such concepts companies will gain wide reputation and concessions from the governments. Plus there will be a self contentment of giving something back to mother earth.

Mitigation of population
Enhanced earning opportunities in the metros attract people from all around leading to congestion at one place. Thus govt should not concentrate on few cities for development. All the cities should be given equal importance and all the local opportunities utilised for developing such cities. This will help to maintain lower Floor Space Index-FSI for cities. Because of centralisation now we are forced to allow FSI up to 4-5 in metros. Vertically we can provide the space residence but how to provide services like water, electricity, sewage disposal and transportation. These services are complicated, cannot be executed like framing Gr+50 vertical Tower.

Scientific Agriculture
Agriculture is the main steam of the Indian economy and employs most of the population in rural areas. Farmers representation do required in the sustainable development. With the advancement in technology and cheap offer prices, farmers are using artificial fertilisers more than required. To fulfil this extra demand we have established many fertilizer factories. By nature of these chemical factories, emit dangerous effluents which are harmful to ecology even after sophisticated treatment system. Thus we should look into alternatives for natural fertilisers. Researches show that properly treated animal manure can feed well to the crops than chemical manmade fertilizers. Before using this manure bio gas can be extracted. This is an added advantage to save domestic fuel for daily use. When we are having such great eco-friendly fertilizer, the question arises why to invest billion dollars on large fertilizer plants..?

In many places Government/Private sector parties acquiring acres of agricultural land for establishment of Industrial Special Economic Zones-SEZ. But none of the state govt is thinking to unite the poorly divided lands to build Agricultural SEZ’s. From last five decades Govt’s invested crores of rupees for building mega dams and distributor canals. Agricultural SEZ’s can accelerate the recovery of such investments.

Solar Energy
Solar energy system is renewable type of source of energy which is adopted successfully for industries and domestic use in many parts of the world. Only thing is that till the date these systems are quite expensive. But rich class people can afford it as Govt is offering tax saving scheme on it. For a rich class family with 5-6 people residing in a 2500sqft house, an investment of Rs. 30,000-40,000 is not a big deal. Such investment on solar system will take care of overall lighting, and water heating consumptions for throughout year. Thus small portion of electricity can be saved and utilized somewhere else in a needy place. India is world's 6th largest energy consumer, accounting for 3.4% of global energy consumption. Due to India's economic rise, the demand for energy has grown at an average of 3.6% per annum over the past 30 years. In March 2009, the installed power generation capacity of India stood at 147,000 MW, while the per capita power consumption stood at 612 kWH. Thus we have to go for renewable type of energy solutions. Solar system is eco-friendly source of energy and more concentration should be given on it.

Last word
Few of these ideas dealt herewith are not new. Most of the time these are heard or read somewhere and left without any action. Simple sentence squeezes our mind is “मेरे  अकेले  से  कुछ  नहीं  बदलेगा..!” (Nothing will change lone from me..!). But there is need to change this mentality. Even if half of the 120cr population starts practicing some of these measures, change will surely occur. That will be named as “Green Change”.

Survival of Life... !

The earth receives about an astonishing 8.2 million “quads” of Btu energy per year... out of which entire human race uses about 400 quads of energy (in all forms) per year.. One need to give thought on a question “how much energy from earth is dissipating back to solar system..? it can be closely approximated to only 30% of daily gain...thus energy store in the earth is increasing day by day...this energy accumulation can be considered as main cause for all type of catastrophes on earth... same kind of changes are happening on other planets of solar system which are out of human knowledge.

As sun is expanding, the rate of energy infusion will go on increasing... at time span of 5 billion years sun will have radius beyond the earth’s orbit i.e. 250 times the present radius.. sun will swallow the planets one by one... now the term is of Mercury, then Venus and Earth... intrestingly because of electromagnetic and gravitational force of sun, new planets will be formed at outer periphery (100AU) of solar system... tenth planet 2003 UB313(Eris)-baby planet of solar system, is the latest known planet formed by same phenomenon.

Threats like Cyclones, Earthquakes-Tsunamis, Temperature rise, melting of glaciers, Storms-floods all these are preliminary warnings of earth to say now it’s too old to feed living organisms anymore... something more verse than above disasters are yet to happen... a movie-2012 directed by Mr. Ronald Emmerich, is an attempt to visualise the forth coming catastrophes.

In Indian theosophy it is already stated such devastations as a ‘Bhumi Pralaya’... there is mention in “Vishnu Puran” where Lord Vishnu, will lead a ship carrying Bhraman, few seeds and other requisites to start the life once again... this might be a space ship from Venus to Earth came under the governance of Lord Vishnu (might be powerful engineer or shipbuilder).
Our special interest towards Mars and corresponding recent explorations, displays the natural struggle human being for survival... for sure Mars is or will shelter the living organisms... as sun go on expanding, Mars will get closer to sun and conditions on Mars will change naturally, such as to give refuge for living organisms... with extensive discoveries, one day man will make his way to Mars through some powerful space ships... thus once again all in new life will start new civilisation and cycle goes on repeating till the end of Sun as a White Dwarf.
In conclusion 'end of earth' is part of solar system... one can put effort to slow the process but can’t stop...! big and small nations should come together to put combined effort to move to safer planet... very short time is left and some more advancement is required from man and machines for Survival of Life... !

What we worship..?

As per Hindu mythology we use to worship Lords & Lodes in the form of their idols... there are end number of idols made of basalt, granite, limestone, ice (Ex: Lingam), tree root, earth or metal along with sent of flowers, smell of incense sticks, voice of bells and spray of water... depending upon the choice of devotee... in simple words human being need some mental credence or scare for all his good or bad deeds.. such feat makes him to follow vital spiritual belief like God... for many times such belief worked inline and that gave a strong footing to presence of God.

But as per Indian ancestors, the sole meaning to keep faith in spirituality was to be obliged to the basic features like Sun, Earth, Water, Metal, Air, Trees etc... one could have noticed in typical worship... where idol is made of Earth or Rock, to make process hygiene often Water is used in the form of Ganagaajal, to represent Air incense sticks glow, burn camphor’s or lamps correspond to Sun, Metal bells in rings and flowers stand for presence Trees... thus in other words to worship means to be loyal to the Mahaabuthaas (basic features of life)... this fact acknowledges that ancestor kept great concern about Environment... thus they converted major represents of environment to Lords or Lodes(just to create spirutual fear)... further, to protect animal or wild life they converted or joined lords to many forms.. like lord Vishnu in the form of avtaars like Matsyaa(for fish), Tortoise (during samudra manthana), Varaah (for pig) etc.. others like Ganesha(for elephant), Hanumaan(for monkey) and other charters like Lion (for Vaishnodevi), Eagle (for Vishnu), Crow (for Shaneshwara), Peacock (for Muruga), Tiger (for Ayyappa) etc.

All the time (past or future) it’s human tendency to go against the ecology... thus ancestor's ultimate aim of worship was, to show their gratitude towards the Environment... through 'Worship'..!
